DAY 25 - May Challenge

Many years ago, when I was first dating Rich, I 'd stayed over at his flat one night during the week and I got up early so I could get a taxi back to mine and then get showered and changed in time for work. I looked and felt pretty rough and I had no make-up on, clothes on from the night before and bed hair!

Anyway, the taxi came pretty quickly and I got in and gave him my address. The guy turned round and said:

"You remind me of someone.....I know who!... you look just like that girl from that band Eternal, Louise whatsername"....

He meant Louise Nurding (aka Louise Redknapp) who is gorgeous! Here she is back in the day (with the band - on the far right) and a more recent pic:

I was chuffed...he was obviously mad or blind but I will always remember him saying that.

For the record, I don't look anything like Louise...

Have you ever been told you look like someone famous?

Here is another Paris inspired blog header idea I'm working on.....its still work in progress for now!

  1. When the film Titanic came out strangers would come up to me and tell me I looked like Kate Winslet. I can remember being stared at by a lady for so long that I asked her what was wrong and she apologised and said that I looked like her too. I used to find it incredibly embarrassing and think to myself 'I wish!' :)

    1. Kate Winslet is gorgeous! If more than one person has said that to you there must be a likeness. I can't get on your blog to check what you look like :)

  2. It's all the best compliment when someone says you look like someone famous (barring they're particularly good looking of course);)

  3. I was once told I look like Molly Ringwald. I'm assuming its because of the red hair.

  7. It's interesting to hear who others think you resemble. For a few years I heard Marisa Tomae (sp?), which was flattering because she's pretty. Once I heard ammonia Lewinsky (sp?), not so flattering. :)

  8. Love your idea for the blog header. I sometimes pretend that I am a French woman -- love all the books, "Secrets that French Women know," etc. etc. It's a little mind getaway that I have.

  10. Australians used to tell me I looked like Elaine Benes from Seinfeld. But I think that's mostly because of my American accent and I have really curly hair.

  11. Cute header!!

And that's a HUGE compliment! From a taxi driver. Classic.

And yes. I get told the same two people ALL the time, but one night in Vegas a man said Sarah Palin. I was less than pleased. (Not that she's bad looking, but still.)
