DAY 9 - May Challenge
I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment so everyday I get out my box of tricks (artbox) and start being creative, normally with the aim of doing something linked to my blog post. My 'moment' to share is some artwork I have been working on over the last couple of days.
Here are some images showing what I am doing now (this is neat for me...it can get quite messy sometimes!)
Its been raining the last few days in California, which I actually quite liked because it made a change from constant sunshine and it has meant that I have had time to work on more illustrations, update my portfolio, joined LinkedIn and apply for some jobs.
Inspired by the rain and living by the sea, here are some illustrations I did yesterday:

this is looking good, i really like your watercolour style. I might break em out this weekend too.
ReplyDeleteI've never really used watercolours before, well maybe as a kid. I saw a book the other day and saw some watercolours I liked so I bought a cheap pack from target $2 or something. Glad you like them!
DeleteSo fun, you are really talented!
ReplyDeleteGinny
Thanks Ginny! I have no dress sense though, maybe you could help?
DeleteLove the pictures, so bright and fun.
ReplyDeletethanks rebecca!
DeleteLove these!! Watercolor is my absolute favorite. If you haven't already, you should definitely think about opening an etsy shop!
ReplyDeletehi christina. ive thought about etsy, i might do it! i worry about the tax side though.
DeleteOh you work with watercolor! Lovely! I never really worked with watercolor before, I think it seems so much harder than acrylic!
ReplyDeleteHi jasmine, I've only started using watercolour recently, I am more used to acrylics too so it makes a nice change. I use whatever I can get my hands on!
DeleteDo you then take a picture of the artwork for your blog? That's what I've done in the past with my, ahem, attempt at "illustrations." Just wondered if there was another way.
ReplyDeleteHi susie, I scan it into the computer, it's better quality than a photograph. If you have a scanner, just make sure it scans as 300dpi. We have a scanner/printer combo. X
DeleteYou are so talented, Rowena. Such beautiful pictures. I would love to be able to draw like that.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day
Rachel x
Thanks Rachel, that's very kind of you! I doubt myself sometimes so that means a lot. You have a lovely day too x
DeleteOh, that's beautiful! Where can I see more of these?
ReplyDeleteA month of Blog...
Thank you! I have more artwork in my portfolio (check out the left hand side bar link)....I keep trying new stuff so will do more watercolours soon x
DeleteI love the pictures, especially the two different takes on umbrellas at the end. California is so beautiful I bet you have endless inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill, I'm not sure we are in the prettiest part of California, it's quite commercialised, lots of shopping centres but there is quite a lot of inspiration by the beach.
DeleteYou are very creative. Good luck with the job hunting :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteWow, I love this! I didn't realize your artwork is even better than it appears on the screen! The tiny images don't do it justice. I should click on each one from now on to see the larger size. :)
