DAY 1 - May Challenge

I was born in Nottingham, England and lived there up until recently when I moved to Irvine, California. Here is a picture of me as a baby with my sister Charlotte:

My favourite subjects at school were Art, Music and English and I went back to University as a mature student a few years ago and graduated in Graphic Design.

I have been employed since I was 15 years old, starting as a Saturday girl in a shoe shop. I then worked behind a bar at Nottingham Greyhound stadium whilst I was studying and after temping for a bit I went onto work for a blue chip company as a Customer Service Executive, Communications Representative and Team Manager.

I met my husband Rich at work in 2000 (I was his boss!). He proposed in Paris in 2010 and we got married last August 2012 in Mauritius on the beach.

It was because of Rich's job that we moved from the UK to California. I am still trying to sort a job for myself over here, which is why I have the time to blog daily!

Here is a recent pic of me on the cable car at SeaWorld in San Diego:

I have travelled quite a bit across Europe and the USA, my favourite places so far being Malta, Italy and the Greek Islands. My dream is to own a yacht and go Greek island hopping one day.

I have a cat called ‘Minnie’ (you can read all about him here) and I have a beautiful family back home in the UK. My favourite things are sitting in the sunshine (listening to music/reading), playing with my niece Caitlin and going out for Sunday lunch with all the family.

That's all for now! x

  3. When I was fifteen, I worked at Sea World in Aurora, Ohio, in the employee cafeteria. I'm pretty sure they shut the place down or turned it into a waterpark, but it was a fun job and I learned to be a short order cook there.

    1. Hey susie, comment as much as you want! I like comments.....check out S =Sister to see the other pic. I'm quite dark and tan easily (like my dad) and my sister is fair and doesn't tan much. I have a constant tan from holidays, especially now I'm living in California. We are sisters honestly....we have the same nose/mouth :)

    1. Hi Carly, yes it is a little different to Nottingham and the UK! It's a pretty cool place to live, I'm still getting used to everything and life here, everything is so much bigger. I miss the UK though.
