T = Tea

I’m not a coffee drinker (I love the smell of coffee though) but I do like a good cup of tea! I can’t function without a cup of tea in the morning (hubby is making me one right now). I don’t like all teas, just black tea with a bit of milk and one sugar. I'm not fussy!

On our honeymoon in the Seychelles, we were driving around on a cloudy day and stumbled across a Tea Factory. They grow tea in the Seychelles so we popped in and were shown how they make tea from start to finish, from collecting the leaves to putting them into tea bags. It was really interesting (honestly) seeing the full process. It's not something you really think about. I tasted some cinnamon tea in the little cafe but it was too bitter for me. I ended up buying a box of Vanilla tea to take back to the UK for everyone at work to try. I don't think they were too keen though. The box is probably still sitting on Lisa’s desk...or in the bin?

Before we left the UK for California, we had to go to London to visit the embassy for our Visa appointment. Whilst we were there, I’d booked us in for a Christmas tea at the famous Ritz Hotel. We had to get all dressed up otherwise they don’t let you in. The tea selection was huge, I opted for black tea though and we got loads of cakes and sandwiches, all very yummy. It was very expensive but worth it and it was another thing to tick off that bucket list.

My artwork today is simply 'Cup of tea':

What one thing do you need to be able to function each day?

  1. Coffee...seriously. I need my morning coffee. However, I do enjoy a lovely cup of tea now and then too, and your artwork is beautiful.

    1. I think it's coffee for most people, I've just never liked the taste, although I don't mind a frapee. Glad you like the artwork. :)

  2. I love tea, too, but no milk or sugar for me. ; ) Several years ago we visited England to see the Ryder Cup. It was a cold morning so my husband set off to bring me back some hot English tea. What he didn't realize is the default was to put in cream and sugar. I tried to drink it, but I just couldn't. Now the scones with clotted cream - oh my yes! Coffee with cream, yes, but tea? lol! I guess it's what you're used to.

  7. I loveeee me a good cuppa - can you get decent tea in America or are your friends and family posting you Yorkshire Tea Bags by the box load?! I can't even stand the smell of coffee but my Hubby and my parents both like it, although my dad also drinks tea and I often have to use TWO teabags because he likes it STRONG! xx

I managed to get some tetleys yesterday, that seems ok so I'm coping just about. 9. I am a tea drinker in the morning and I love my cups and saucers. Most have been given to me. Love them too! When I went to Harrods for the first time I enjoyed the tea ritual so much, I have kept it.

  11. I actually love both coffee and tea. I love pretty much all types of tea. I tend to like it very lightly sweetened. Whether I want milk in it depends on the type of tea. If it's a light herbal tea, then it may be good plain. Some teas don't need anything extra, such as Sugar Cookie Tea, which is actually natural herbal flavorings. My favorite coffee is Chocolate Nut coffee. It's not a flavored coffee, but probably roasted with chocolate and almond oil to infuse that flavor. I love that stuff. :)
